Artist FAQ

Once I have submitted my art, can you guarantee that it will appear on your site?

Even though submissions are open to anyone, we still hand-pick the designs and we cannot make any guarantees that your work will be featured.

What are the requirements for submitting my work?

We want to feature as many different styles and techniques as we can, so we have no requirements as far as creativity goes (after all, who are we to make rules for art?). We do, however, require two things: that you submit your own work (no plagiarism, please) and that the files you send to us are of a high enough quality to print (preferably in a high-res PDF format).

Do I need to sign a contract?

Yes. We have an Artist Agreement that we require all artists to sign electronically before we add their art to our site. This agreement is not only to protect ourselves (e.g. if you should plagiarise someone’s work without us knowing about it, we will not be held responsible) but for your own protection as well. We believe that if we are going to use other people’s work, we should do it the right way and that way is to have a written agreement. You can download and read through the Artist Agreement here.

What do I need to do once my art is featured on Pleekō?

Nothing at all. 🙂 That is the great thing about what we do here. We handle the products, orders and customers, while you sit back earn some extra cash with every sale. Having said that, it is always a good idea to let people know you are selling on Pleekō. By promoting your work on social media and linking to the products, you will be more likely to sell your art.

How much will I earn when my designs get sold?

Artists receive a 20% commission on each product sold with their design. For example, if an A4 poster (R80) with your design gets sold, you will receive R16. The amount will always be 20% of the regular product price, even if the product is on sale. Nice.

How will I get paid?

We make payouts to artists at the end of each month (if the sales took place in the last week of the month, the payment will be made at the end of the next month, to allow for returns and delayed payments from customers). If you have a South African bank account, we will make the payouts via EFT. For everyone else, we will do it via Paypal.

Can I place a wholesale order for my own designs and then sell the products elsewhere?

Certainly! For wholesale orders, minimum order quantities and wholesale prices will apply. Please send us an email at if you would like to find out more.
